Now Offering Centering Group Prenatal Care!
What is CenteringPregnancy™?
CenteringPregnancy™ is prenatal care in a group setting that brings women out of the exam rooms and into a comfortable group setting. Centering replaces your typical doctor’s appointment. Your medical care is provided by a Primary Care Health Services licensed obstetrician and nurse practitioner, and is coordinated with your Healthy Start Community Health Worker.
How Does Centering Work?
Centering group prenatal care follows the recommended schedule of prenatal visits, but instead of a 15 minute visit in the doctor’s office, each visit is 1 ½ – 2 hours long. Centering gives women 10x more time with their provider, and time to engage as a group in discussion and activities designed to address health topics such as nutrition, common discomforts, labor and delivery, and breastfeeding while leaving room to discuss what is important to the group.
